Lindsey T asked:

I didn’t read the recipe before buying the ingredients and bought the cube steak instead of round. I have always used round, and it has worked great…but I’m in a pinch and need to know if it will still work. Usually I cut the round steak into strips, and toss with ginger and soy sauce and add peppers and onions and simmer in the crock pot on low all day. I have cube steak all cut up…but when I noticed the meat wasn’t cutting the same as I remembered, I checked the recipe again and lo and behold, i got the wrong meat. Can I still use the cube steak in this recipe? Or will it just fall apart like ground beef?

The prep as you seem to be exactly like plain round steak would be like ground beef but it might fall into bite size pieces so what serve it be think.

Sure , it will work just fine. it won’t fall apart like ground beef. Although it looks like ground beef. It isn’t made from ground beef. It’s just a more tender cut of stea. Your pepper steak should still be really good !

    yep.. i’ll be just fine..
slow cookers tend to make any type meat extremely tender.. so beef is beef.. tastes the same.. just the textures are different when broiling, bbqing etc.. but slow cooking makes them all mouth wateringly tender…
mmmm!.. can I come over for supper?
