Marinade for Steak

We've been using this marinade for 25 years and never tire of it. The taste is wonderful and, if left overnight, the marinade helps to tenderize the steaks. (If tenderness is a big issue, add a couple of tablespoons of vinegar to the recipe below). Prep time does not include time for marinading.
by Kookaburra

1 tablespoon olive oil
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons red wine
2 tablespoons tomato sauce (ketchup) or barbecue sauce
3 garlic cloves, crushed
1 teaspoon dried herbs
good grinding black pepper (or crushed chili to taste)

Combine all ingredients in a non-metallic bowl.
Add steak and spoon over marinade.
Cover and refrigerate several hours or preferably overnight (but even 1/2 hour will do).
When ready to cook remove meat from marinade, pat dry with paper towels and cook as usual.
(I usually fry or barbecue the steak).

Beer Marinade Steak

Ingredients:

3 lb sirloin steak, 2" thick
1 can beer (12 oz)
1/2 cup chili sauce
1/4 cup salad oil
2 teaspoon soy sauce
1/2 cup coarsely chopped onion
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon dijon mustard

Directions
In a sauce pan, mix beer, chili sauce, salad oil, soy sauce, onion, galic, and mustard; simmer 30 minutes. Brush meat with sauce. Place steak on grill. Cook 15 minutes on each side, basting frequently with sauce. Season with salt and pepper right before serving.

Ribeye steaks rule - 1-1 1/2 inches thick, really just need salt and pepper on this steak, grill on very hot grill until first side is cooked then turn over and cook on medium to finish.

Baked potatoes with butter and sour cream.
Vegetable of choice, corn, broccoli, green beans.
